The President of the State at the Higher Education Conference: "I would like to address some of the current events that concern me the most. We are in the middle of a war. We paid the price of thousands of murdered and wounded. We lost over 800 beloved heroic soldiers and women. Our sisters and brothers are still kidnapped in Gaza. Thousands of citizens are displaced from their homes. And what is happening in the meantime? - Disparaging and humiliating treatment towards families of abductees. The accusation of the head of the Shin Bet and the Chief of Staff of treason and an attempted coup, the accusation of the legal adviser to the government being an enemy of the state that came to kill him, and threats of impeachment from morning to evening. Shooting light bombs at the Prime Minister's house, and repeatedly accusing him of treason. What the hell is happening to us?! Does that make sense?! Haven't we suffered enough?! Didn't we already understand that this harms the security of the state?! Didn't we understand that this is how you break up a country?! The physical and verbal violence - towards the legal advisor to the government, towards the head of the Shin Bet, towards the chief of staff, towards the prime minister - is simply horrifying. Accusations of treason, threats of impeachment, bloodletting. What is this?! This is absolute madness. This is madness that needs to be stopped. There are those who sacrifice themselves for the country, and pay with their lives every day. And there are those who are destroying the country, and I pledge that I will fight them with all my might. I warn you: you are destroying the country. We must stop this madness now.'<\/div>\n\n
